The boys' factory
Following Raffaele’s death, management passed to his children, but Bruno Sanvitale soon took over, becoming the beating heart of the Lido for forty years and transforming it into the ‘young people’s beach club’ and a meeting place for all the young people of Ortona. In 1970, a major refurbishment gave the venue the form we still recognise today: a place of fun, sport and socialising.
An oasis of relaxation
In 2005, the reins of management passed to Antonio, supported by his partner Piera and his niece Giulia, who breathed new life into the beach club’s hospitality, welcoming families, tourists and guests from the worlds of art and television. During those years, the range of services on offer also expanded: Stefano Palumbo, who was already in charge of the bar, broadened the offering with the opening of the Ristorantino Lido Riccio. The restaurant, which Stefano continues to run with passion to this day, became a place where the flavours of the sea blend with the Lido’s characteristic conviviality. Thus, the beach club maintains its lively and cheerful spirit, transforming into a true oasis of relaxation, where anyone can find the right balance between fun and tranquillity.
Today, a lively and welcoming place
Today, the tradition continues with the Menè family. Fabio and Chiara, with passion and a modern approach, combine respect for the Lido’s heritage with a spirit of innovation, introducing updated facilities and new experiences for all guests. Amidst sunny days, smiles, friendly chats and unforgettable moments, they keep the authentic spirit of Lido Riccio alive, whilst at the same time making it a modern, dynamic and welcoming place for every generation.
